The Ananasrenette originally came from Holland. With its outstanding taste, it spread far and wide and was greatly esteemed by apple lovers. The skin is fairly smooth, with a bright yellow to golden yellow colouring with numerous russet dots. The flesh is creamy yellow, crisp and very juicy. The apple has a noble, zesty, sweet-wine taste. Highly recommended: as an aperitif and with asparagus, risotto and cooked or grilled meats. Short description: Greenish yellow, spicy on the palate, and highly reminiscent of pineapple with notes of citrus fruits and currants.
